Position: Job Captain
Desired Education: Accredited degree- B.Arch or M.Arch
Desired Experience: 3- 5 years at a residential firm under the direction of a licensed architect.
This is a unique opportunity to "get in early" and help establish a young, innovative architectural practice. Ritual Architecture specialises in custom residential and mixed use / multifamily projects. This position will require the ability to balance many unique projects, clients, and tasks. Description:
Required Skills:

Mastery of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe, and other BIM software

Written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to clearly and succinctly communicate with all parties on matters concerning design and construction using proper terminology. Should be able to break concepts down in order to communicate with those lacking industry training (such as custom home clients.)

Comprehensive understanding of all phases of the design process

Experience coordinating with various consultants and understanding the roles and responsibilities of each

Knowledge of common building materials and methods

Experience preparing construction documents, including details.

Familiarity with local and state codes, understanding of how to achieve code compliance

Experience working with local jurisdictions throughout the permitting process

Ability to critically examine existing structures, including likely framing and foundation

Excellent interpersonal skills. Capable of building rapport with clients, consultants, and coworkers.

Desire to grow with a young company; team-focused with a growth mindset.

Ambitious and goal oriented. Plans to pursue licensure.
Responsibilities:

Aid principal in carrying multiple projects from early Schematic Design through Construction Documents.

Analyse zoning and building codes for project- specific requirements and constraints.

Delegate work to junior designers, review, correct, and incorporate delegated work product into design and working drawings

Facilitate work product of consultants, aid principal architect in detailed coordination and execution of consultant work product to achieve design intent and comply with applicable codes.

Coordinate and execute plan check and permitting process.

Measure existing structures and document conditions in AutoCAD to be used as basis of remodel design.

Prepare construction details with a focus on executing design intent by utilizing standard construction practices and materials.
