Services
At Ritual Architecture and Interiors, no two projects develop the same way because no two clients live the same way. Our process is shaped around the individual, taking time to understand routines, values, and aspirations so the design reflects more than a set of preferences. The result is a process that adapts to you, shaping spaces that feel aligned with your life rather than imposed upon it.

We’re here to handle an extraordinarily complex and lengthy process, not to add things to your plate. We do not overwhelm you with exhaustive handbooks or questionnaires, but instead provide clear and timely guidance, so you can enjoy the experience.
You can expect authoritative and confident leadership at every stage. We provide a structured overview of the phases ahead, ensuring you understand where we are, what decisions are required, and what comes next, while we manage the complexity behind the scenes.
Our role is to hold the full vision and steward the details, so you can move through the experience with confidence and ease.
Steady Guidance
A Process Shaped Around You
Our approach is intentionally malleable. While we utilize the industry standard project phases as an organizational starting point, we flex to meet the project's specific needs, the site's complexity, and the way you prefer to collaborate.
The result is not an off-the-shelf package, but a tailored experience grounded in trust and steady leadership.

Yes. We approach architecture and interiors as one continuous effort, ensuring every element, from structural decisions to furnishings, contributes to a cohesive whole. You also benefit from the efficiencies in timeline and cost. One point of contact for design means lower professional fees, one person responsible for design problem solving, and a singular process with no starts and stops.
-
Yes! We love teaming up with other designers. We are happy to provide just the architectural design as a collaborative effort with your preferred interior designer. Getting the team together early on in the process means we can dream up a cohesive and unique concept. We also have great relationships with preferred interior designers we’ve worked with and can recommend.
-
Yes! We also love picking up another architect’s baton and continuing to realize their vision at the scale and detail level of interior furnishings, fixtures, and finishes. One benefit in particular is that our architectural knowledge means we know how to respect the architectural design, including knowing which structural components are flexible and which are set in stone.

We design on custom residences, whole-home renovations, ADUs (guest houses and granny flats), small-lot multifamily projects, and select ‘third spaces,’ including thoughtfully designed commercial or community environments.
-
Yes. We have extensive experience designing retail environments and really enjoy the creativity it requires. “Third Spaces” (places outside of the home and workplace, like cafés, wellness studios, or retail environments) are so important for providing in person connection and community. We find great purpose in this.
-
The earlier, the better. Engaging us at the outset allows us to shape the project holistically, aligning site, structure, interiors, and experience from the beginning. That said, it’s never too late for your project to benefit from a keen eye and expertise.
-
Yes. We offer feasibility study services to help select the property that will align with your needs and desires. We analyse the property’s site characteristics, zoning restrictions, and any existing structures to determine development potential. This service is a stand alone offering that will give you clarity and confidence when you are ready to make an offer on a property. We can also provide these services during your escrow period; we suggest requesting a due diligence contingency to allow for this.
-
Yes, for select project sizes. We work best on multi-family and mixed use projects around 12 dwelling units or less. We enjoy the design puzzle of a small lot.
-
Yes. Ritual is based in San Diego and holds a license to practice in the state of California. We have also completed projects in Texas and Arizona and are excited to explore projects outside our region.
-
Yes. We understand how backlogged Los Angeles designers are because of this. Our knowledge and experience designing coastal homes of this caliber makes us a natural fit for helping you get back home. Our personal history of loss from Southern California fires means we know how to approach this experience with reverence and care.
